Wuzhen Grand Theater

The Wuzhen Grand Theater is located on the bank of Yuanbao Lake at the entrance of West Gate Scenic Spot in Wuzhen, surrounded by a lake of clear water. It is adjacent to the ecological parking lot of the scenic spot to the east and the Mu Xin Art Museum to the west, covering an area of over 54,000 square meters. It is the performance venue for the special invited plays of Dreams like Dreams, Murder in the Hanging Garden, and Four Generations under One Roof during the first Wuzhen Drama Festival. The design of Wuzhen Grand Theater is inspired by the concept of twin lotuses, where two ellipses, one virtual and one real, are cleverly combined. The alternating overlap creates a public stage space, which not only meets the functional needs of the space, but also contains a sense of festivity and prosperity. The exterior of the theater is decorated with thick Jing bricks and Jiangnan ice cracked window lattices, creating a harmonious coexistence between the quaint vicissitudes of appearance and the historic Jiangnan water town, complementing each other.

The main building area of the theater is 21,384 square meters, with one underground floor and seven aboveground floors. It has a large theater and a medium-sized multifunctional theater. The Grand Theater is the core building of Wuzhen Grand Theater. The walls and dome of the audience seats are decorated with traditional blue printed fabric patterns in Wuzhen. It has three tiered audience seats, and the second floor is also equipped with independent private boxes, totaling 1135 seats. The Grand Theater has professional stages with functions such as pushing, pulling, lifting, lowering, and rotating, and adopts world-class sound and optical equipment, allowing audiences to enjoy perfect auditory and visual enjoyment no matter where they are in the theater.

The Central Theater and the Grand Theater are separated by a raised and lowered soundproof wall, which is connected to each other and independent of each other. Inside, there are 224 seats of retractable seating stands, which can serve as multifunctional venues for performances, meetings, banquets, 3D movie screenings and so on. Wuzhen Grand Theater is a large-scale social and cultural facility that integrates multiple functions such as theater, concert performance, exhibition, and cultural and artistic exchange. It also has auxiliary functions for cultural activities such as rehearsals, conferences, and research. It adds new vitality to the millennium old history and culture of this small town.

 Water Theater

The Water Theater is a captivating open-air theater with over 2,300 fan-shaped audience seats paved with logs, rising layer by layer, and lush trees spaced between the passages and surrounding areas. From a high vantage point, you can get a panoramic view of the main stage in the crescent-shaped lake of nearly 7,000 square meters. The continuous Ming and Qing architectural complex behind the stage, horse head wall, Guanyin pocket,  towering Bailian Ancient Pagoda, and Wen Chang Pavilion with soaring eaves outline the bouncing skyline.

Sun and Moon Theater

It is an outdoor performance venues. As the main venue of the first drama festival "Ancient Town Carnival" in 2013, it is usually used as an outdoor film screening venue. Activities can be held separately or it and adjacent national music theaters together form an overall venue for indoor and outdoor activities.

National Music Theatre

Located in the middle section of Xizha Old Street, it is also known as the "Water Stage" because it is built on water. The front and back of the stage are transparent, and the rooftop caisson in the stage is even more magnificent and exquisite. The theater can accommodate approximately 192 people.

Shen Family Theater

According to legend, it was built by Shen Yue, the teacher of Crown Prince Liang Zhaoming and the Chief of Secretariat. It is a highly distinctive Jiangnan courtyard with four rooms and five entrances, each with a courtyard and a gatehouse. The theater formerly was the organizing committee office of the Wuzhen Drama Festival and the home venue for lectures and workshops by Chinese and foreign masters.

Xiushui Corridor Theater

Located in the north of the Xiushui Corridor Greenland in the scenic area, it has a history of over 100 years. The theater is divided into upper and lower floors, which can accommodate more than 100 people. Owing to the traditional stage and audience seat design style, performers can easily interact with the audience, making it very suitable for experimental dramas, modern dance, art exhibitions and so on.

Bengwan Theater

Located on the west side of Xiushui Corridor in West Gate Scenic Spot, this theater has a unique surround stage design that it can accommodate around 200 people to watch performances simultaneously. Owing to its neat venue, it has been renovated as a multifunctional venue and is an ideal place for small-scale performances, cocktail parties, and business meetings.

Poem Field Square

Located at the end of Xizha Old Street, it is an open-air square adjacent to the Water Theater. It was originally used by silk merchants to dry cocoons, silk, and silkworms, so it is also known as the "Silk Field Square" by the people. It is surrounded by ancient silk factories, shops, and homestays. During the restoration in 2008, several poems from famous persons in Wuzhen were engraved on the square, hence the name “Poem Field Square".

Wuzhen Internet International Convention and Exhibition Center Network Theater

Located in the northwest of West Gate in Wuzhen, it is adjacent to the canal to the west, Huanhe Road to the east, and West Gate to the south. The total construction area of Wuzhen Internet International Convention and Exhibition Center is about 60,000 square meters. It is the main venue for the World Internet Conference and the main venue for conferences and exhibitions in Wuzhen Scenic Area. The design concept is simplicity, environmental protection, and wisdom, and the architectural style fully considers the elements of the Internet, traditional Chinese culture, and the characteristics of Jiangnan water town. The network theater is a venue within the Wuzhen Internet International Convention and Exhibition Center, with a total of 427 seats and professional lighting and sound equipment.
