Since white chrysanthemum is produced in Tongxiang, why is it called "Hangzhou White Chrysanthemum"? According to the legend, in the early years of the Republic of China, Tongxiang White Chrysanthemum was renowned at home and abroad, and was then re-sold to Southeast Asian countries by an Anhui tea merchant Wang Yutai. Zhu Jinlun, a local chrysanthemum merchant in Tongxiang, also benefited greatly from this. Zhu Jinlun purchased dried chrysanthemums from farmers. After careful treatment, processing and packaging, he affixed trademarks and descriptions onto the products according to the requirements of Wang Yutai, and then re-sold them to the Southeast Asian merchant Liang through tea merchants. Wang Yutai, as a tea merchant of Huizhou, is a shrewd merchant who knows how to compete in the business world. In order to prevent Southeast Asian businessmen from leaving him as a middleman, he instructed Zhu Jinlun to affix the words "Jinlun Teahouse of West Lake in Hangzhou" on the envelopes of white chrysanthemums produced in Tongxiang. Later, Merchant Liang really did burn the bridge. He went directly to Hangzhou to look for "Jinlun Teahouse of West Lake" without Merchant Wang. Of course, he did not find it. But since then, white chrysanthemum in Tongxiang has been used on the name of "Hangzhou White Chrysanthemum".
As the origin of Hangzhou White Chrysanthemum in China, Wuzhen produces authentic White Chrysanthemum with a good taste. White Chrysanthemum in Wuzhen is white as jade, with golden stamens and big blossoms. It is fragrant and elegant, with sweet and strong taste. It can be made into tea with artistic tea sets, or added in bath water to lubricate skin and remove heat rash. It can also be used in food, which is a feature of Wuzhen.
