Story of Sanjiu Liquor
It is said that the origin of Sanjiu Liquor is related to a dutiful son. When the dutiful son was helping others, his employer gave him two Zongzi as dim sum. He was reluctant to eat alone. He wanted to leave it to his mother, so he hid Zongzi in an old tree hole and pulled a handful of grass to cover the hole. Later, when it suddenly rained heavily, Dutiful son left in a hurry and forgot to take Zongzi. When he remembered to take Zongzi, it had been soaked in rain and grass juice and became soft. Because he was too poor, dutiful son took these two soft Zongzi home to his mother to eat. Unexpectedly, after the shell was peeled off, it immediately emitted a burst of fragrance, which was surprisingly good. The mother quickly asked him, and the son replied that it was covered with a layer of grass. Originally, this is an alcoholic herb that could ferment rice food. Later on, this method of making wine spread.
