Hangzhou white chrysanthemum, also known as chrysanthemum morifolium, Chamomile, tea chrysanthemum, Dayangju chrysanthemum, and Xiaoyangju chrysanthemum, is one of the top ten traditional flowers in China.

Hangzhou white chrysanthemum is also a traditional cultivated medicinal plant in China, one of the eight famous medicinal materials in Zhejiang Province, and also one of the best varieties of chrysanthemum. In the Ming Dynasty, Li Shizhen wrote in the Compendium of Materia Medica that chrysanthemum can benefit arteries and veins, regulate limbs, disperse wind-heat, clear the head and eyes, release brain pain, bright eyesight, cure dizziness due to wind-evil, and make hair less white. Modern pharmaceutical experiments have also proved that white chrysanthemum decoction has health effects like anti-inflammatory, lowering blood pressure, easing pulse, nourishing blood and invigorating qi. If you use chrysanthemum to bathe, it can relieve itching, care your skin and make you beautiful. Over the past 800 years since the Southern Song Dynasty, planting, viewing chrysanthemum and drinking chrysanthemum tea have gradually become customs in Tongxiang. Chrysanthemum exhibition has become one of the indispensable activities in local people's life. Wuzhen is affiliated to Tongxiang City and  famous for its white chrysanthemum.
