Where to go with the baby on the weekend is the question I have been thinking about. Maybe new parents have the same concerns as me. I always want to give my child more within my ability, and let him/her feel the world of diversity and colorfulness. The biggest satisfaction is to see the child's smile. You are happy, so I am happy. Parents are really the biggest fool in the world.

In my childhood, my entertainment was simple. Even the cartoons didn't fully invade life. I didn't have chance to enjoy so many developed audio-visual digital technologies nowadays. The biggest fun was to share nature with my friends. In fact, it was to pick flowers, tease the chicken, catch the beetle, roll on the grass, go to the lotus pond to steal the lotus of the neighbor... I am glad that I lived with nature in my childhood, without shrinking and trapped in the cage like a cement forest, and I could see a rich, lively and changing world, that is my magical paradise.

After Disney, the playground, the lake and the beach, we decided to open the natural Pandora's box for our one-and-a-half-year-old baby--Yuanbao.

Of course, being in the city, it is not easy to find a place to be suitable for the pastoral garden. When I say that I am going to Wu Village, many friends, even the father of the child are confused. Maybe you and I are familiar with the name of Wuzhen. Wuzhen, a water-like life, is a dream about Jiangnan in many people's mind. In recent years, the internet conference has made Wuzhen famous. People take visiting Wuzhen to meet President Xi and Ma Yun as a joke on the Internet.

In contrast, Wu Village is like a hermit. It is indeed a utopia in the Wuzhen scenic area. It is located 500 meters north of the Wuzhen West and is adjacent to the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. It is completely different from the farmhouse you imagined. It is more fashionable and poetic.

We checked in at the Visitor Center in Wuzhen. Wuzhen adopted the most advanced face recognition system, and even the baby Yuanbao were photographed. In this way, whether in Wuzhen or Wu Village, you can scan the face to enter. We marveled at the perfect integration of the ancient town and the technology.

We spent a happy and fulfilling weekend with Yuanbao in Wu Village. Wu Village, which is a one-price destination collecting food, accommodation, traffic, tour and entertainment, is called the village version of Club med. One-and-a-half-year-old Yuanbao curiously saw the interesting things in the pastoral nature of Wu Village and enjoyed the fun. I also seemed to have reunited with my long-lost childhood, so that I can’t wait to tell our feelings and experiences in Wu Village. It is a poetic garden that you may not know yet, but you will love it after you go.

Day1: Pastoral joy: flower viewing, feeding sheep, fishing, archery, swinging

There are free shuttle buses between the West Scenic Zone and the Wu Village. Wu Village, as its name suggests, was built and rebuilt by the original natural village Wuzhen Hongqiao Village. The village committee is the tourist service center of Wu Village. You can go there to get a tour consultation about Wu Village. You can also borrow bicycles, baby carriages, etc. for free. From time to time, you can hear such broadcasts as "picking activities set off at the village committee". Presumably, the older tourists will recall a strong memory of the old days, as the broadcasts restore the intimacy of the rural life for going from door to door in the 1970s and 1980s.

Living in Wu Village

Wu Village is quite big. It’s inevitable that you can’t figure it out especially when you come here for the first time. But don’t worry, because Wu Village arranges a CCO for each family, whose Chinese name is a passionate cultural creator, and in the popular sense, it is a personal butler. Our CCO leaded us to the room and introduced the activities and projects we could enjoy in Wu Village.

The theme of the room we lived in is called Harvest, which sounds very rich.

There was no gorgeous decoration in the room. Mainly for comfort, wooden floors, rattan frames, and even the lamps were wooden. The places where we could see were the colors of logs. The big bed in the middle hanged a white mosquito net. After opening the wooden window, the light breeze blew and the bed net was waving, full of randomness and freedom.

Outside the Harvest, there was a small forest. Walking through it, we could feel like a fairy of green leaves, and Yuanbao was so happy that she ran around in the woods.

Children's playhouse

The Children's Attraction is located in the Wheat Field Restaurant. It is suitable for Yuanbao and young children who are older than her. The combination of the ocean ball and the slide is probably like a god in the eyes of young children. Just as a woman sees beautiful clothes, she can't walk. Yuanbao jumped on the slide when he saw it and then it was his performance time. He threw himself down in the ocean ball, stood up, threw himself, stood up, and repeated it. If I didn't tell him there was more fun inside, probably he could spend the whole afternoon in the ocean ball and slide.

There is also a Legoland in the Children's Playroom. It is very large. I seemed to realize why Lego bricks can be popular all over the world. Because small blocks can be transformed into so many possibilities under the imagination and creativity.

The one-and-a-half-year-old Yuanbao did not have the ability to put LEGO bricks into a piece of work. He just played with the blocks, and he was probably curious about how to connect and combine these bumpy little squares.

The picture book shelf at the corner of Legoland was an area where Yuanbao could play freely. Like at home, he picked up the picture book he liked and sat on the floor, turning the pages of the book. I was glad that Yuanbao enjoyed reading and it had become his habit.

There are probably few children who can resist the charm of small animals while feeding them. Among them, lambs and rabbits attracted a lot of fans because of their soft and cute appearance.

Therefore, feeding lambs and rabbits became a regular hot item for children to be in close contact with small animals. I also saw many children feeding the little goats and rabbits with kindness under the guidance of their parents.

Yuanbao had little interest in animals, and gave a wide berth to pigs and cows, these relatively large animals, which inevitably emitted a strong smell. He seemed to prefer the wild ducks swimming in the water and learned to say “Duck, quack, quack, quack...”.

What Yuanbao preferred was the lawn outside the animal paradise. He ran ecstatically on the grass and waved his arms like a happy bird.

Flower world

You can see the figure of flowers in all corners of Wu Village, a natural holiday village. As a "flower idiot", I could only accurately call out the name of the lotus flower. The lotus flower was like a fairy in the water. Every petal was full of aura.

The flowers looked like the cockscomb were small but very nice. It was probably daisies. The color was very vivid.

Yuanbao ran along the side of the flowers, with smile on his face, which seemed like a spring breeze.

His love for nature was beyond my expectation. I had specially observed his happiness. He is also excited when he visits the supermarket, but it can't last long. But in nature, he never feels bored. Nature can always give children a broad life. With tolerance, it can have its own way to enrich the children's minds. One of the ways to express happiness for Yuanbao at his age is to run. He was running on a small road in the countryside. Looking at him, I seemed to see my childhood.

Playing on a swing

The swing seems to always follow the childhood. There are always the swings in all kinds of picture books. This was the first time for Yuanbao to go on a wooden swing. He was curious and excited as if he had mastered a new skill. In addition to wooden swings, there were wooden blocks, wooden slabs, and table chairs made of wood, which are the simple things we used to play when we were young. Yuanbao expressed a strong interest of the moving wooden board, and he was excited to grab the rope and took the challenge. With our help, he slowly learned the balance between hands and feet and the body.

Archery and fishing

It’s not just children. In fact, adults can find fun in Wu Village. For example, you can experience the rattan hand weaving, or go to the archery field to have a try, or fish for fun sitting by the pond and welcome the sunset.

Food in Wu Village

Because the price is all-inclusive, you don't have to worry about where to eat. From morning till night, the Wheat Field Restaurant has a rich buffet, from desserts to seafood, from snacks to all kinds of stir-fried noodles, as well as the chefs who can slice the roast duck at the scene, cut the salmon, and make noodles and snacks. It can't be said to match the five-star hotel, but it is better than many.

Night Tour in Wuzhen West 

Wuzhen West is close at hand, so you can't miss it.

In the village, you can take the scenic spot shuttle bus to the Wuzhen West. There are many people in the West on the weekend. Standing on the bridge at night, you can see the lights on both sides of the river shaking gently on the water.

This was the third time I saw the night view of Wuzhen. The tourists changed a batch and another batch. The West itself is still so beautiful.

It was also the first time that Yuanbao saw the night view of the ancient town. He called and pointed at the cruise ships with lights. He was so excited that he insisted on walking back and forth on the bridge. The night was as cool as water, but the night of West was too busy and not lonely.

Day2: Enjoy nature: picking, riding, watching the lotus and strolling through the grove.

People say that a nutritious breakfast is the key to the day of the vitality. That's true for Yuanbao. Using a kiss to treat and please mom.

Farming picking

For children growing up in the city, farming picking is probably one of the most interesting projects. Some older children are happy to be small farmers, picking up small hoes and doing a good job in the field to understand the growth of crops.

Well, children can immediately eat the vegetables them picked.

Parent-child riding

Yuanbao was still too young, so he only had an observation of the farming experience of the older friends from a distance. The project that we personally experienced in the morning was a parent-child family bicycle. In September, we could enjoy the gentle breeze and the fresh smell in the air in the morning. We rode on the natural field of Wu Village, feeling the breeze blowing, realizing the desire and need for nature, no matter how big or small.

Enjoying the lotus in the pond

After a night, the lotus in the pond seemed to be more beautiful.

Looking back on this summer, I hadn't had time to enjoy the lotus, thinking that the summer was gone. I didn't expect to see the pond with full blooming lotus in Wu Village.

In order to allow tourists to enjoy the lotus flowers better, the scenic spot has specially built a wooden plank road. The lotus pond was one of our favorite places in Wu Village. The scene described in the poem “In the season when lotus seeds can be picked in the south of the Yangtze river, the lotus leaves are so strong and luxuriant” was in front of us.

Yuanbao was particularly excited to look at the lotus leaf and flower, and even pulled out a small seedpod of the lotus along the boardwalk, holding it in his hand, like holding a treasure. Parent-child entertainment weekends are always very fast. One day passes, and another day is farewell. Let's swing again. Walk the little wooden pile again. Play a peekaboo. Do hide-and-seek in the grove we love. Enjoy the natural scenery which we long for and seldom see. In the short period of two days in Wu Village, the father of Yuanbao and I were not just a companion with smiles for each other, and we were more like partners who explored and experienced together. Therefore, we deeply realized the children’s need to understand nature. After all, all the good things, such as flowers, insects and fish can only be found in nature, which belongs to another rural world, which cannot be given by the picture books and the city.
