Wujin originated from the folk weaving industry in Wuzhen and has a history of thousands of years. Wujin's weaving process is extremely complicated. The weavers select high-quality natural silk as the basic raw material, and the gold-plated ”Wujin” woven with pure gold thread has a solid texture, bright color, strong three-dimensional sense, and is graceful and extraordinary.

Weaving the unique folk craft of “Wuiin” requires a large jacquard loom containing more than one thousand parts and components, which is operated by two weavers. One of the above weavers is responsible for "jacquard" and the lower one for "weaving". Because of the loud sound when weaving, the two communicate with each other only by treading the bamboo poles. When jacquard weaving, weavers must be fully focused and well cooperate with each other. Folk weavers in Wuzhen are generally husband and wife partners, as the saying goes, "couples brocade, know each other." The Wujin weaving process absorbs the original Chinese brocade weaving process and incorporates the local jacquard weaving crafts of Wuzhen, which is irreplaceable by modern machines. Because it is purely hand-woven, the speed is extremely slow. It can only weave 5-6 cm a day, which is really of "gold value ". Nowadays, the Yida Silk Workshop that has been preserved in Wuzhen still follows such traditional processes such as cocoon selecting,  cocoon cooking, silk reeling, peeling, and weaving.
